Delectable Demons - Solo Show July 7th 2006 Seattle Wa.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:ARTIST STATEMENT SOLO SHOW

DELECTABLE DEMONS - A Solo Exhibition By ANGIE MASON
Opens This JULY 7th 2006 at Schmancy Gallery,Seattle,WA.
Reception 6-9pm
Schmancy Gallery Boutique is located at 1930 Second Ave Seattle Wa.98101

Delectable Demons brings forth a melancholy menagerie of characters and
worlds which are a funny, whimsical, dark and tragic view at the wonderful mess of life.
What are seemingly cute characters are also twisted, moody bruised souls.
Visually exploring combinations of funny vs. sad and of dark vs. light
playing a perfect balance on this see-saw of a visual ride.

Within these works I like to utilize the balance of opposites through my
characters as a way to paint truths about being human. Creating this
balance or tension of a tug of war between good and evil, hope and
despair is at the core of these works. We all have to face demons
in our lives and in my paintings my characters are sometimes
facing theirs or are in fact the demon themselves.

I aint afraid of no ghosts ^_____^ fun article on my artwork...

Hmm well over all this is a great article though I will say for the record the House Broken show is not actually about my apparent haunted house...I plan on eventually posting the original interview just because its interesting to see how writers really change words and can wind up presenting you in a completely different way than you expected... but Never the less its press and a great positive piece so all in all I am really happy... if I were to edit this piece I would just take out the one main line about House Broken Being inspired by my "Haunted" House. I never said its haunted, SPOOKY YEs, Haunted no ^____^ Go read the art statement on house broken which is in one of my older blog posting and see more what I was thinking about in regards to House Broken if you care to delve a bit deeper.
